Sight Reading Tricks and Tips for all Piano Students (and Teachers too!)

All musicians will agree: Sight Reading is an important skill to master, regardless of the level of study or the instrument that you are playing. All good musicians should have a good fundamental understanding of the music they play. The most powerful way to fully immerse ourselves into our music comes as we improve our literacy skills.

Music is a universal language. In this video, the author explains some of the fundamentals to help any musician to nurture and develop strong sight reading skills. This helps musicians to “speak the language of music in a fluent way that all will understand.” The views and advice offered here are for piano students yet the basic message can be utilized across all music learning experiences.
