Reacting to Sound

For those of us in the general population that have the ability to hear the world around us, we take our gift of hearing for granted. All of our senses (touch, taste, hearing, speech) are forms of communication with the world. We interact to the world and the world interacts to us through these important communication tools. When one tool is missing, we learn to adapt.

I have wondered from time to time, what if we did not have all of the communication tools, but were given our missing link. How would our life be affected?

The following video brings to light the beauty that comes within the world of sound. As the woman in the video hears sound for the first time, please watch her touching reaction.

Thank you to the L.A. Times for sharing this important information and for bringing awareness to the importance of communication with others in the world that we live in.
