Never Give Up!

Lang Lang is one of the world’s most popular Classical pianists. He is considered to be a Classical music rock-star. He plays sold out houses throughout the world. He works with students of all ages and abilities.

His message is simple: he quit music and had lost all hope, yet he was saved by another teacher. One teacher thought that Lang Lang was hopeless at the piano; another teacher believed in Lang Lang and inspired him to keep pushing. To keep practicing. To keep growing.

One Response to Never Give Up!

Lang Lang is amazing and brings drama to classical music and because of that broadens it’s appeal.
I have to admit though, that i often listen to him with my eyes closed, as i find him distracting to watch. I like my students to hear different interpretations of classical pieces, and watch the stage persona of different pianists, because we then discuss this in class – it helps them understand music better and learn what works for them.
Thanks for sharing that video…it’s going on my mailing list along with other interpretations of the same piece.
